The high speed (186 mph) “Chunnel” train to London took us through more beautiful countryside—French and English. The best part about England is staying out in the country in Michelle’s Dickensian townhouse and seeing the wonderful Kent countryside and drinking in cozy little pubs-some of them older than

Henry.

The last 4 days we spent in and around Bath. Went to Stonehenge, hooked up with some crazy Druids and did a ceremony with chickens and such to strengthen the curses ML has fixed upon the thieves in Madrid (“A cess upon their genitals!”). We’re certain to get even yet. We toured Jane Austen’s house,  Roman Baths, a post office museum, a costume museum, some more ancient stone circles and a medieval village. In Portsmouth, we saw Admiral Nelson’s ship, HMS Victory, and the Royal Naval Museum. Something for everyone! Ate mushrooms stuffed with Stilton cheese, breaded and deep fried, at the Red Lion Inn in Lacock. These came very close to beating out the Clams Casino at Louie’s in Dallas!

Now we are back in Rochester with Michelle for a couple of days. We will be meeting with Gary from Dallas and taking a train to Edinburgh for the Arts Festival, then on to see how many distilleries we can find. Then we plan to come back to Rochester where we will move into Michelle’s attic loft and spend the rest of our lives.

Lots of luv, V & ML
