fun with lots of little frustrations. Train and bus ticket people
are difficult. I think they'd just as soon put their cigarette
out in the palm of your hand as help you. A bartender in Cuenca
wouldn't let me put mayonaise on my tuna sandwich because he
said it wouldn't taste good. He offered me tomatoes
instead.
We
are always afraid we are ordering a pony for dinner when what
we want is fried trout. There
have been a few surprises, but we have managed to avoid the evil
tripe sandwiches.
Low
cost accomodations have been pleasantly surprising. Often on the
small side but always reasonably clean. ML thinks the bidets are
weird and scary because they loom in the corner. We've found that
they were good for washing my foot after I had cut it on the beach.
We often have hot water. We haven't gotten used to the Rob and
Laura Petrie twin bed layout that seems more common than not,
but have found ways to cope.
Out
of cybertime. How to hand wash your laundry in a stone wash tub
in update numero tres, probably from Switzerland or somewhere.
