V: Really? Wow!

ML: Yeah. OK: Ginger or Mary Ann?

V: Mary Ann. Liam Neeson or Hugh Grant?

ML: Liam Neeson. Jane Fonda as “Barbarella” or

    Raquel Welch in “Fantastic Voyage?”

V: Oh, no...Raquel Welch.

Well, you get the idea! Then we have little games we play to keep our minds sharp, like the “Quick, what day is it?” or the “Quick, which way is north?” games. And of course, our deep, philosophical, 3am “Highlander” discussions: “Who would win the ultimate sword fight: Connor or Duncan?”

We also spend lots of time laughing over silly things like the many scheister taxi drivers we encounter, for example. Our favorite is a guy in Bangkok who refused to use his taxi’s meter, explaining -  with a straight face no less - that it was Monday, you see, and “taxi drivers in Bangkok don’t use their meters on Mondays!” Another favorite thing we laugh about is the widely-used concept of “finished.” The Istanbul restaurant was not ‘out’ of the yogurt V ordered, the yogurt was “finished.” The castle in Madrid that we rode 5 subway trains to visit was not closed for renovation, it was “finished.” The overnight train we wanted from Prague to Paris was not fully booked this particular day, it was “finished.” We fully expected the Eiffel Tower to be “finished” once we did reach Paris.

I hope these revelations satisfy your questions and wondering. More sensible ruminations later from what I hope will be a cooler climate! For now, though, this update is “finished.”

Much love,

ML and V
